Trips

The basics

Below are the basic things you need to know about our trips. However….

“Guys, there’s been a change of plan” has been a common theme on the previous two trips to Rwanda. For that reason. but also because of the uncertainty that covid still may bring to travel plans, these are subject to change…

  • Generally, each trip will include at least one SPFL club and a group of local grass roots clubs, up to 3 coaches per club

  • In total each trip can accommodate 12-16 travellers

  • We ask each coach to raise sponsorship of £1,750 per person, which can be donated over a period of 6-9 months before the trip

  • Of that, a minimum of £250 will be passed on by us directly to the projects and schools that your group visits

  • We will organise your travel - flights, accommodation, meals (excluding alcohol), travel around Rwanda and entrance to genocide memorials etc. Your group will be accompanied by a charity rep who will be your trip manager and tour guide

  • Individual travel Insurance, entry visas and vaccinations are not included and are usually the responsibility of each traveller to organise for themselves before the trip

  • Any gift aid that the charity receives from donations will be used to cover any running costs and to build up a small reserve fund (as recommended by OSCR) for emergencies

  • Our Scottish team are all volunteers - no salary or expenses - though in the future we aim to create a few part-time jobs in Rwanda, for Rwandans, including trip manager / tour guide roles.
